Not all clients are created equal. High-paying clients value quality and reliability, and they’re willing to pay for premium service. Here’s how to attract them.

Attract high paying customers for your residential cleaning business
High-paying clients value quality and reliability

Step 1: Identifying Your Ideal High-Paying Client

The first step to attracting high-paying clients for your cleaning business is to identify your ideal client.

  • What does your ideal client do for a living?

  • What is your ideal client's yearly income?

  • Does your ideal client have children? A spouse?

  • Are you okay with cleaning up pet-related messes (not necessarily pet waste, but more along the lines of animal fur, ridding the house of pet odors, etc.)?

  • Are you willing to do dishes? There is a large subset of individuals who will pay extra for someone to clean dishes. Be aware that there may be LOTS of dishes, or you may have to handwash them. You will also take on added risk of breakage, which will help you be able to charge more as it is an increased insurance liability.

  • Are you willing to do laundry? So many individuals HATE doing laundry, or they just don't have the time to wash, dry, fold, AND put away their laundry. This is an opportunity to fill a need that many customers have, but not many service providers offer.

Once you define your ideal high paying client, you can focus your services and marketing efforts to individuals who fit your ideal.

Step 2: Branding and Professionalism to Attract Premium Clients

PRESENTATION MATTERS!

Clients who are willing to spend more money will be turned off by poorly designed websites, hodge-podge logos, and low-quality marketing materials.

If you can afford it, it is worth it to pay for professional branding, a sleek and professional website, and high-quality marketing materials. High-paying clients expect high-quality service, and your business's presentation is often viewed as indicative of the quality of your services.

If you are on a budget, there are many templates that you can buy and customize to fit your brand. Be sure to look for high-quality images, crisp logos, and professional-looking marketing materials.

Again, presentation matters, ESPECIALLY to high-paying clients.

Step 3: Offering Specialized Services

High-paying clients want more than basic cleaning.

Most high-paying clients are looking for a deep clean each time. They are looking for a clean that will look exquisite for days to come, no dust on their surfaces, and the air quality to be clean and refreshing.

An ordinary "wipey swipey" clean will not suffice. High-paying clients expect you to clean under items, wipe every surface, vacuum every room, and clean every toilet, even if the areas don't "look dirty." The Branding Bridge offers a free, in-depth checklist for quality cleans for high-paying clients. You can find it here.

It was mentioned earlier that clients are willing to pay premium prices for services that are not ordinarily offered. By offering packages that include dishes and/or laundry, you've automatically set yourself apart from at least 60% of the service providers in your area.

Consider offering deep cleaning, eco-friendly services, or move-in/move-out packages to attract high-paying, premium, and luxury clients.

Step 4: Using Strategic Marketing (SEO, Referrals, Networking)

Marketing is not just putting up a website or posting on Facebook, it is strategic.

To appeal to high-quality clients, a website is a necessity. Furthermore, a clean and attractive website is necessary. Invest in SEO (search engine optimization) so that search engines can understand what your website is about. Be sure to mention your service areas and your specialty services so that you can be found locally.

Speaking of being found locally, be sure to claim your Google My Business page. This is how individuals can leave reviews and ratings, helping you to get more customers.

Lastly, make genuine connections to form strong partnerships. Building a relationship with local business owners that complement your services (such as real estate agents, carpet cleaners, HVAC repairmen, etc.) can expose you to high-quality clientele, in addition to helping support local business owners.

Get Quality Clients

To attract premium clients, focus on quality, branding, and visibility.

Position yourself as a high-end cleaning service provider. A basic clean will not suffice, as high-paying clients want more than a quick and lazy job. Take advantage of The Branding Bridge's FREE cleaning checklist, which also includes a client agreement with terms and conditions, as well as a pricing formula to help you price your services to reach 6 figures and beyond more quickly.
